Your dishwasher saves you a ton of time and it is never good to ignore its cries for help. Living with less than perfect performance from an appliance will often lead to living without your appliance. It is always best to call an appliance repair service before that annoyance turns into a complete shutdown. Here are some signs that your dishwasher is getting ready to break down.
Uneven Cleaning Results
If you find that the dishes on the top rack of your dishwasher are not getting clean, this is an indication of a potentially serious problem.
Everything Stays Wet
Today’s dishwashers are designed to do a good job of drying your dishes. The exceptions are the dips in the bottom of cups and some forms of plastic containers. If you are noticing that any other types of dishes are not coming out completely dry, there is a growing problem with your dishwasher that can turn into an error code failure and shut it down completely.
Water in The Bottom
If you see any amount of water in the bottom of your dishwasher, at any time, there is a serious problem in need of the attention of an appliance repair service. Letting this go can turn into a flooded kitchen.
If you notice muck building up on the interior of the door panel, there is an issue with your dishwasher that requires repair. This is called ‘beaching’ in the appliance repair industry. You may also notice food buildup in the corners of the interior. At no point should a dishwasher be leaving behind bits of food within its cabinet.
Water on the Floor
Always keep a sharp eye out for indications that the floor in front of your dishwasher is getting wet. Sometimes the leak is so slight that, by the time you are unloading your dishwasher, the water has dried up. You will still be able to see a water ring, however. Never let any water leak, no matter how small, go ignored. They never stay small for long.
